Safety by design

Tesla's are designed to have the least amount of injuries in an accident

Structure absorbs energy as much as possible

Tesla designs their vehicles so that, upon impact, little energy reaches the cabin to reduce the impact on the driver and passengers.

Let's take a frontal collision as an example. The ribs at the beginning of the casting are thinner than the ones at the back, so there is a controlled crushing of the entire front system before the remaining energy reaches the cabin.

Pushes the vehicle away from the object on impact

Another beautiful example is the design of the lower load path below the front crush rail. It is angled so that when the vehicle hits something, the vehicle is pushed away from the object so you don't get crushed by the object.

Low rollover risk

Like most other EVs, Tesla vehicles have a low centre of gravity, making it nearly impossible for them to roll over.
